Ice cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream... for ice cream!

Summer, heat, sun, high, dry simply makes it a perfect time for an ice cream.
Yesterday, I was at my favorite Ice cream shop "Dolcelatte". They have a wide variety of flavors going from fruity to chocolate, gum to cheesecake, or milk to soy. My favorite flavors are "pure chocolate" and "dulce de leche tentation". Some of them include small chunks of white, dark chocolate or nuts.

Milk is bought to a farm in the nearby area, making the ice cream fresh and soft. This family business started in 2008. They also considers allergies and intolerance. Most fruit flavors are dairy free and every now and then they also have soy ice cream. Non sugared ice cream is also available.

Ice cream is healthy when eaten with moderation. It is a great source for calcium, vitamins A, D, B12 and K, and protein. Plus, its low glycemic index prevents one from having blood sugar spikes and drops.

The cafe is nice and it has been recently remodeled. Its white and velvet inside makes it cool at summer time and warm in winter. Coffee and a wide variety of hot chocolates are also offered during the cold months.

Two scoops are 3 euros, three 3.80 euros, so it is not inexpensive. However, ice cream in Madrid is usually found within this price range. Nevertheless, the quality of Dolcelatte is much higher than other ice cream shops.

Milkshakes are made with 7 scoops of ice cream and one may also ask for another scoop as float. I had one once... Oh! It was breath-taking, but so was the price (almost 7 euros!).

Dolcelatte is my first choice. I have friends that drive over 30 miles to enjoy a rich and creamy treat.

So, anyone feels like screaming for some Ice cream? I sure do!
